The Melvin Humanities and Leadership Magnet Center was established on August 14, 2018. Our vision is to prepare socially conscious leaders with analytical and evidenced based critical-thinking skills so they can learn from the past, question the future, and envision new possibilities for the 21st Century.

We give our students many opportunities to be a leader. We have events like Thanksgiving Canned Food Drives and Animal Shelter Projects. Our Student Council Members created a "Tech Team" which recharges, restocks, diagnoses and solves issues with our school computers. Also, the "Tech Team" takes really good care of our computer labs and carts. The Magnet Writer's Group will be publishing newsletters during the 2020-2021 school year. Moreover, the Melvin Yearbook staff will work closely with the Yearbook Advisor. You are never to young to be a leader !
