This is our very first year and we have three candidates for the LAUSD Elementary Biliteracy Pathway Awards!
Kudos to Yaretzi, Fatima, and Valerie for their perseverance and dedication to global learning!
Fatima is such a hard worker and excellent student. She completed the LAUSD Elementary Biliteracy Pathway Process and hopes to participate in the Middle School Biliteracy Pathway and then earn her California Biliteracy Seal in 12th Grade!
Valerie is a member of two clubs this year. She showed leadership as a cohost of the World Language Club Zoom Event. Also, she completed the 2021 LAUSD Biliteracy Pathway for Elementary. She plans to continue the other two Biliteracy programs that will be offered in the 8th and 12th grades for high achievement students
Yaretzi is a member of both Magnet clubs. She cohosted the World Language Club Zoom and is an Elementary Biliteracy Pathway candidate from the Biliteracy Club. In the future, she plans to complete the other two Biliteracy programs offered to LAUSD students who show excellence in English and a second language.
World Language Club siblings! Valerie and Jesus were super dedicated this school year! Both are creative and bright!
Dallas is shy but the World Language Club made her way more outgoing this school year! She's passionate about her academics!

Kassandra represented our school at the Los Angeles County Scripps Spelling Bee Competition.
Kassandra, Elijah, and Antonio are the top spellers in their grade levels. Great Showing for the Humanities and Leadership Magnet.
Magnet 3rd graders placed first and second in the Scripps Spelling Competition.
Corsair Aviation Pilot Shane Braddock poses with the top third grade Spellers including our Magnet competitors. Pilot Braddock noticed the spellers were calm and focused during his judging.
Councilmember Bob Blumenfield poses with the fourth grade Scripps Spelling competitors including our Magnet students. Councilmember Blumenfield was really impressed with the spellers’ knowledge of Latin, French, Greek, and Italian words during the judging.
Children’s Dental Zone Dr. Nassiripour poses with many of the fifth grade Magnet Spellers.
After he judged the competition, Dr. Nassiripour commented about the spellers’ confidence on stage.
